PLGrid NG

STATUS: COMPLETED

PLGrid NG project (New generation domain-specific services in the PL-Grid Infrastructure for Polish Science) is a continuation of project PL-Grid and PLGrid PLUS. Its main aim was to develop and deploy dedicated domain computing services for a number of scientific disciplines identified as priorities in the National Research Programme.
The new services are an important extension of PL-Grid infrastructure which has been built in Poland since 2008.

The project received funding from the European Regional Development Fund under the Innovative Economy Operational Programme. It was carried out by the PL-Grid Consortium and coordinated by ACK CYFRONET AGH.

WCSS coordinated the task of expanding the hardware infrastructure and was involved in operational activities, securing the infrastructure, training and supporting users, expanding the application offer and developing and producing solutions for domain platforms:
  • Complex Networks
  • Geoinformatics
  • Hydrology
  • Meteorology.
